O verdadeiro carácter vulcânico

John Herschel, son of the discoverer of Uranus, wrote in 1869 that the lunar features offer:

"in its highest perfection, the true volcanic character".

Herschel even reported seeing volcanic eruptions on the Moon (an unlikely scenario, since the most recent proven lunar eruptions are more than 3 billion years old!).
