Partículas por segundo (João Radão)

"A média anual [de actividade referida a um radionuclídeo - às vezes incorrectamente chamada radioactividade] nas habitações de Vila Real [onde foram feitas medições] foi calculada em cerca de 800 becquerels por metro cúbico (Bq/m3) quando a legislação da União Europeia sobre a qualidade do ar fixa em 200 Bq/m3 o limite para a concentração média anual de radão para novas habitações."

[In the field of ionizing radiation, the SI unit of activity is designated the becquerel (Bq) rather than the reciprocal second (1/s), and the SI units of absorbed dose and dose equivalent are designated the gray (Gy) and the sievert Sv), respectively, rather than the joule per kilogram (J/kg). The special names becquerel (Bq), gray (Gy), and sievert (Sv) were specifically introduced because of the dangers to human health that might arise from mistakes involving the units reciprocal second (1/s) and joule per kilogram (J/kg), in case the latter units were incorrectly taken to identify the different quantities involved.]
